A typical itinerary for a big five hunt is as follows:

Pick-up at O.R. Tambo International Airport and transfer to Pretoria

Check-in at lodge in Pretoria where the team will meet the group and any last minute questions will be answered. (At least one day is required to rest and acclimatise after the flight).

A 100m indoor shooting range will be available for the calibration of rifles, prior to the departure to the concession area.

An early transfer to local airport

The group will be flown by private charter plane to the concession area.

The first night will be spent at the base camp where hunters will get to know the guides and trackers.

From base camp, the hunt will start

During the hunt, the group will be accompanied by camera men who will give a 30 minute DVD of the whole safari.

According to rules, and depending on which game is to be hunted, the hunter will be backed up by either one or two backup guns of large caliber.

The outfit has various large caliber guns and ammunition available should you prefer not to use your own firearms. Please note that a minimum of .375 caliber is required for the Big Five.
According to CITES rules and regulations, a minimum hunt of fourteen days are required to hunt the big five and dangerous game. Should it happen that a hunter fill up his quota prior to this, Ku-Winda Safaris offers the hunter an opportunity to do some Tiger Fish fishing, skeet or wing shooting or do some other leisure activities the region has on offer.

On completion of the hunt, the group will be flown back to Pretoria to spend a refreshing evening at a luxury lodge, before departing to their home country.

Add-ons such as a night for two in South Africa's playground – Sun City – for golfing and gaming or maybe a visit to the wine route in Cape Town can be arranged.
